The Huntley Park District does hereby invite sealed bids for Weiss Park. Work will include site earthwork, asphalt milling and paving, sport court surfacing, concrete footings and paving, basketball goal installation, new shade sail installation, existing shelter renovation, site furniture installation, fencing & backstop installation, engineered wood fiber surfacing, underdrainage, playground equipment installation, gaga ball pit installation, and landscaping.
Project manuals, including bid form and specifications, and construction documents are available after 10:00 am on November 6th, 2024, from Accurate Reprographics 2368 Corporate Lane, Suite 100, Naperville, Illinois 60563, 630.428.4433 or www.hitchcockplanroom.com. Bidding documents are available at the non-refundable cost of reproduction for each bid package.
Bids will be accepted at the Huntley Park District, 12015 Mill Street, Huntley, Illinois 60142 during regular office hours. All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked with the Contractor’s name and address, and “Bid for Weiss Park,” on the face of the envelope. Bids must be received no later than 1:00 pm on November 27, 2024. Bids will be opened on November 27, 2024, at 1:01pm at the Huntley Park District, 12015 Mill Street, Huntley, Illinois 60142.
The ability of the apparent low bidder(s) to successfully execute the Work in accordance with the contract documents and on time will be considered by the Owner in making an award. The bid shall be let to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder as determined by Owner. The lowest bidder will be determined on the basis of the base bid, or the base bid and any combination of alternates the Owner desires to accept, all in the exercise of its discretion. Owner may also use all publicly available information about the bidders in determining whether a bidder is a responsible bidder.
The Owner has determined that the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act applies to the installation and other onsite work performed under this Contract. Contractor shall therefore comply with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act and shall pay, and require every Subcontractor to pay, the prevailing rates of wages as established by the Illinois Department of Labor for each craft or type of work needed to execute the contract in accordance with 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. Contractor shall prominently post the current schedule of prevailing wages at the Contract site and shall notify immediately in writing all of its Subcontractors, of all changes in the schedule of prevailing wages. Any increases in costs to Contractor due to changes in the prevailing rate of wage during the terms of any contract shall be at the expense of Contractor and not at the expense of the Owner. Change orders shall, however, be computed using the prevailing wage rates applicable at the time the change order work is scheduled to be performed.
Contractor shall be solely responsible to maintain accurate records as required by the Prevailing Wage Act and to obtain and furnish all such certified records to Department of Labor as required by Statute or Regulation, in the manner specified by the Department of Labor (e.g., through the Department’s portal) including certified payroll. Contractor shall be solely liable for paying the difference between prevailing wages and any wages actually received by laborers, workmen and/or mechanics engaged in the Work and in every way defend and indemnify Owner against any claims arising under or related to the payment of wages in accordance with the Prevailing Wage Act. The Owner agrees to notify the Contractor or Subcontractor of the pendency of any such claim, demand, lien or suit.
The Contractor is advised that the Illinois Department of Labor revises the prevailing wage rates and the
Contractor/subcontractor has an obligation to check the Department’s web site for revisions to prevailing wage rates. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor’s website: http://www.illinois.gov/idol/Laws-Rules/CONMED/Pages/Rates.aspx.
The Huntley Park District reserves the right to reject any and all proposals, parts of any and all proposals, or to waive technical errors or omissions in submitted proposals. No submitted bid may be withdrawn until a period of sixty (60) days after the bid opening date, without written consent of the Huntley Park
District. The Huntley Park District encourages minority business firms to submit bids on this project and the successful contract bidder to utilize minority businesses as sub-contractors for supplies, equipment, services, and construction.
